Tryd is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Tryd mobile application.
Account Information: When you register and use your profile, we collect your name, email address, phone number and, if you add them, your profile photo, gender and date of birth. We also keep your referral code and the sign-in codes we send you.
Health & Fitness Data: With your explicit permission, Tryd integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) on iPhone and Health Connect on Android to read fitness data such as steps, distance, calories, heart rate, floors climbed and workouts. When you finish a run or walk, we save a summary (distance, time, pace, calories and average heart rate) to your account, and with your permission we also save the workout to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Physical Activity: With your permission, Tryd uses your phone's motion sensor to count your steps during a workout.
Location Data: We collect precise location data to track your running and walking routes, calculate distance, and provide GPS-based features. Location is used while the app is open (for example, to show your position on the map) and while a run or walk that you started is being recorded. During a recording, tracking continues when the screen is off or you switch apps, and a notification is shown the whole time. Location is only saved to your account as part of a run or walk that you record.
Rewards and Challenges: We keep your points, the challenges you join and your progress in them, and the rewards you redeem.
Notifications: If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can send you reminders and updates.
Music Files: If you choose to play music during a workout, the app reads the audio files on your device to list and play them. These files stay on your device and are never uploaded to us.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for analytical purposes.
Other Tryd users: when you join a challenge, other people in that challenge can see your name, profile photo and progress on its leaderboard.
Service providers: we share data only with companies that help us run Tryd, and only what they need to do their job:

Tryd uses health data only to show and record your workouts, and to calculate your rewards and challenge progress. Tryd does not sell health data, and does not use or disclose HealthKit or Health Connect data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining purposes.
Tryd's use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Passwords are stored only in hashed form, never as plain text, and sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Only authorized Tryd staff can access our admin tools. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
You can manage data permissions (Location, Health, Physical Activity, Notifications) at any time through your device settings. You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings, or ask us to delete your data by emailing us (see below).
